  • I can't believe it's been four years since I added this video...

Welcome home, Winnipeg/Manitoba [fill in the blanks]!! :)

  • As of late, King Bettman was reported to have been seen in Winnipeg. Several days ago I heard a writer from the Globe and Mail being interviewed on Team1040 in Vancouver and he's saying there's some credibility to rumors of an NHL team returning to Winnipeg. Later that day Manitoba Moose radio play by play announcer (Brian Munns?) also being interviewed by Team1040 made similar claims.

It would be very good news if a team returned to Winnipeg. Hope it does.

  • I don't think there is any credence to Gary Bettman being in Winnipeg at the time he was rumoured to be here, but hopefully the old adage, "where there's smoke, there's fire," holds true.

If Brian Munz is now saying it's a possibility, there has to be something to it, because a few short years ago, he was nothing but negative about the NHL in Winnipeg...

  • like the guy said can winnipeg support the budget... well i think the only way we can is get rid of the moose and gold eyes and we got a chance

  • I believe Winnipeg could support the budget, and Mark Chipman (True North Sports & Entertainment) must believe that as well, or there wouldn't be talk at all about the subject. The Moose would be replaced by the NHL, goes without saying; as for the Goldeyes, I don't think they factor into the equation.

  • I think it is possible for the NHL to return to Winnipeg! I'm a Wild fan, I remembere when we lost the North Stars to Dallas. When we tried to get the NHL back to Minnesota, we had to build a new arean, huge fan support, good ownership, and fundings to get the team, thw Wild are already doing well, they made the playoffs Three of their first Seven Seasons (Lockout doesn't count), and each game is sold out!

  • Put a team in winnipeg!

  • And Welcome back

  • @FAITHandLOGIC There ARE Fans in Tampa who DO care about the Lightning, I'm one of the many! btw, Charlotte is not the home of the Hurricanes. They play in Raleigh! Miami is not home to the stinkin' Panthers, They play in Sunrise! Get your info straight, please!

  • Phenix was sold!!! But is staying in Phenix... Now, Islanders, columbis, florida, nashville and now New jersey all have a chance to be moved! Way to screw an intire franchise Kovelchuck... Go Home!!!

  • i hope winnipeg gets a NHL team!

  • @ethicomm I heard that if the phoenix Coyotes go under, and theres no choice but to relocate they will move to winnipeg. Possible as soon as the 2011- 2012 season. Sad part is that if winnipeg does move into the MTS centre, they'll have to kick the Manitoba Moose out to thunder bay Ontario.

  • We're getting a team back for sure, just how fast is the question.

  • I was raised on jets hockey, and it broke my heart to see them leave. But i hate to say that i don't see winnipeg being able to support another NHL team. Not enough people with enough money who are willing to spend it. And even if the MTS center can be expanded to 18,000. That is half the battle, there is still little to no parking available in that area. The city shot themselves in the foot when building it there.
