good job but even though joplin only wrote in pedal to one or two of his songs there are just some places in ragtime songs where pedal is necessary

Very nice! I am used to hearing a much slower, and with a pedal version of it, very nice to hear a lighter, more bouncy version, well done =)

I wonder about the glosses flashed across the screen from time to time. Were those notes written by Joplin himself? Was this piece a tone poem?

Yes, these are Joplin's notation in the music, at the beginning of each movement.
