a fantastic performance by one of the all time greats!

this was even before Hanks was taken very seriously as a dramatic actor and was thought of more as a comedy actor ( bachelor party - volunteers etc )

This episode really showcased Tom's young talent. He managed to blend comedy and drama, seamlessly, without seaming fake and contrived. No wonder this guy became one of the most successful actors of all time.
