COME ON NOW WE ALL KNOW THAT THE GIRL WITH THE LEGS WILL WHOOP THE GIRL IN THE CHAIR
-
Wheel chair boxing would depend more on countering and leverage

I Box, and have been doing so for sometime. I'm a huge advocate of disabled Boxing, though it is true that in Boxing the power comes from the legs, hips and back but that doesn't mean you can't get any power sitting from a chair. I would love to see wheelchair Boxing become an paralympic sport and one day I would love to teach the disabled how to fight and defend themsevles. Too many of us take our own abilities for granted without humbling ourselves to what others have to go through.

@drewowns LOL ...anyone who knows anything about having to use a wheelchair, knows how POWERFUL our upper body is, and how we 'compensate' not using our legs, by moving our upper body in different ways than you normally would. And our upper strength? VERY powerful...which leads to powerful boxing punches! Boxing in a chair ROCKS.....I LOVE it!! :D D 'Someone in a wheelchair could never box'?? Hmmmm *wonders what I do every time I box..it it certainly isnt sitting down and knitting! lol

still sexy IMO

@gunz1and2rozez3boy4 you would die in a val tudo match against me, cause i wouldn't hold back. i'd make you hate me, make you want to kill me, like the russian said from rocky IV " I will break you"... of course i'm not in a wheel chair i have Cerebral palsy which fucks up my right arm and leg.

this interests me as I have often thought if I can teach martial arts to people in wheelchairs or with any other dissability. I need to get a wheelchair to work it out properly, I would not wish to hurt some one. Any advice please mail me.

@gunz1and2rozez3boy4 punching her isn't what should worry you, losing is:P

haha

that girl has some sexy legs
alright this is complete bullshit because anyone who knows anything about boxing knows that the power comes from your legs. and not to offend anyone, in all seriousness I'm not trying to be offensive but someone in a wheelchair could never box practically because since their legs are rendered useless....they probably wouldn't go far in the boxing world

This is absolutely true, however, a person who pulls their entire body weight up and down hills in a wheelchair might have a stronger than average ability to withstand and give punches. Also, while a person in the chair can't 'step into' the punch, they can certainly punch into someone else stepping in. Professionally, it has disadvantages, but as a amateur sport, why not?

when was the last time you got into the ring jackass?

Um, last time I fought an amateur boxer in training while in a wheelchair for three minutes: not that long ago. True, when he attacks me, my wheelchair is off the ground in front and I have to lean forward, he tries to do roundhouses, and I try to block and get in heart punches. Try watching the other boxing video WITH the ex-pro boxer and coach, and yeah, I drop my hand a lot, but a 50lb punch isn't much to a person lifting their body around multiple times a day.

a bit of a misunderstanding i think, i was asking someone else if they got into the ring, since they insisted that you could not do boxing since you are in a wheelchair. I think you are an inspiration to everyone who says they cant get exercise or are too tired, it was not directed at you. keep up the good work, and hey you got a great reach, keep at it and dont listen to any idiots out there who say you cant box.

Oh, sorry. Oops. I'm not saying go pro but hey, why not do it at your local gym. Yeah, I have a genetic disorder which gives me enlonged arms, woot! So if you come into the reach be prepared, plus, I don't mind falling out of the chair if I can make the hit. I should post this video where an assistant coach is holding the back of my chair becuase the force of my punches are chasing the opponent all over the gym (they make the wheelchair jump)
