GURU @ The Park Episode 2

The Dating Guru character was created for the Retheatre Instruments adaptation of the Shakespeare classic: Much Ado About Nothing. I played Benedik in the classic version, but in the adaptation I switched roles with Don Pedro (Jeff Gorham), who in the Classic was the Prince of Arragon. Because the adaptation is born from improvised scenes and table work directed by Jason Zimbler, we came up with the modern equivalent of a prince: an internet celebrity. Kyle Lang (Don John in the adaptation, Dogberry in the classic) and I wrote these short dating instructional videos as transitional elements between scenes to help validate the characters we had created. I have worked with the Retheatre on their first two productions: Faust US and King Lear: the rise and fall of baseball as a video designer, and this production marked my return to the stage after a seven year absence.
