Check out some great night time fishing, even jigging with soft plastics, catching some good fish. A Good mixed bag catching Nannygai, Trevally, Mangrove Jack, and even sea going Catfish. Even double headers, they certainly fight hard. But a definate suprise was the plastic jigs from Berkley Gulp, Weird names but the fish didn't mind, and first time I've see jigging at night and very effective. Well worth a try, next time amongst a good bite, Subscribe for more great fishing and tips,

Please see below for part of a fishing article from the trip from Lee Brake, "Our target was red fish - big heart-starting, muscle tearing, and cramp inducing nannygai, red emperor, mangrove jack and fingermark. Wed come prepared for the onslaught with an assortment of combos loaded with a minimum of 50lb braid, 100lb leaders, fast tapered jigging blanks and powerful reels with smooth, powerful drags. We were all veterans of Gregs Reefari Charters so we knew what to expect and just what gear to bring. Wed had nasty doses of red fever before.

The first of the trawler hang ups (marked by the magical ?) proved disappointing and so to did the next few. They seemed to be nothing. Yes, nothing; flat, hard and uninteresting bottom with nothing to suggest fish feeding. Greg burnt fuel like a fleet of Humvees in an attempt to find fishable structure, but found nothing more interesting than a slight thickening of bottom. The mood was sombre and the rods remained in their holders. "

  • @Reefari shouldnt matter much at night should it? wouldnt it mostly be the sound, small and movement in the water?

  • @TheHamhams God damn hippies

  • You gotta love the names, Nuclear chicken also works well in the Berkley gulps,

    Cheers Greg

  • Tandori chicken! LOL

  • No, Very Rare, only one I've caught out wide, have heard of a few reef mangrove Jack shot spearing, and big fish too. There's some big Fingermark around at the moment, with Lee's best on plastics up to 84 cm's so a great fish,

    Cheers Greg
