all I hear is woble woble woble.

@Kookas Aren't chemical reactions just electrical reactions that happen at subatomic levels, with certain superatomic particles changing properties as a result? It's the same thing, just at a different (much smaller) scale.
-
@blind1337nedm It's amazing, but it's not computing in the same way. Chemical reactions are what cause cells to perform what actions they do, with certain combinations of chemicals in the genetic coding resulting in certain reactions which ultimately result in the cell doing whatever it does. Computers don't usually work with chemical reactions.

@toamaori our cells are a machine running from a computer code thats super-compressed thats true quantum computing , research it, you'll be amazed

your answer makes no sense because our fear to death is just "programmed" in our minds so if we program a computer wich is screaming when you turn it off or something like that it looks a lot more like us.
the only really hard thing with "normal" computers is that we'll have to program an almost infinite of functions before it reacts and learns like a human but in theory it is really possible.
-
@toamaori Are you serious? If we actually invent artificial INTELLIGENCE, it can only be assumed that the entity would be smart enough to want to survive. You can't claim the title of AI unless you have INSTINCT. Otherwise, it's just a very well-designed computer program. AI would be able to think independently outside of preset programming, it would be able to learn, see, move, speak, etc... basically everything YOU can do, and you want to survive, right?
-
@MrFlowDrummer can you explain why it would automatically have a survival instinct? Animals have it through genetic programming, so in effect they are just following a program like software kind of... perhaps an intelligent or self aware computer would not care if it was turned off?? like Adolph X said a computer will always obey its programming (so far anyway)_
-
@toamaori Yea, but artificial intelligence WOULD have survival instinct... hence the theory that once true AI is created, it would destroy mankind, because it would never give us the opportunity to just "turn it off."
-
You could use quantum computing to create a living computer by computing the evolution. people already do this, just not in such a detail, because the computers are still to slow. Also an AI could be much more superior then Human Intelligence, thats a fact. Why should it be impossible to be "smarter" then a human?
I think that is really the next step in the evolution. They can evolve much faster then every organism, because they dont have to worry about death. they can change code on runtime.
It would be a lot easier if you just shut your mouth. lol

one thing we have that computers dont, survival instinct, maybe they would not care that you turn them off?? why are we so scared of technology? after all our brain is much more than just a computer, its hard wired to respond to certain things in certain ways. a quantum computer may just be a cortex without a limbic system?
