Cant we just use cheap old q-tips? $40 bucks for a pack of 12 swabs? There are some home made versions out there as well do the search on YT.

"Hold the camera up-side-down as shown". That's not up-side-down. That's tilted 90 degrees forward.
A deadcat/kitten on your microphone will remove some of the noise from your breathing. Or move it to the side some.
