I'm tired to trying to explain it... so here it is. Fort Dickerson Quarry in all its glory. Be smart, be careful, be alive, have the time of your life.

I lived in Knox for about four months for work. Swam at this place many times. Met shroomer. Met lots of cool locals. Had a blast, It's true, there have been some deaths there, in fact I was there one day when it happened. But you wont find a popular swimming whole anywhere in the world where someone hasn't drowned.

I found the quarry when I was just hiking around one day.. came in the back way. I took a lot of Knoxville locals there who had never heard of it!!! It's a nice hidden paradise.

Seriously, there aren't any freaking cottonmouths in East Tennessee. Go back to your west knoxville condo, sing sweet praises to your perfect offspring, and leave us alone. Swimming in Fort Dickerson and Mead's is about as common as swimming at the Wye.

Swimming in the quarry is still illegal and dangerous. Cottonmouths love it there. Several deaths have occured in this quarry. Don't let the scenery fool you. Drinking alcohol in city parks is illegal too. The overlook at Ft Dickerson is monitored by KPD. Shroomer had warrants and is gone. Knox County jail is no picnic, ask Josh (your swimming buddy).
