I took an IR filter off an old digital camera. Watch how much IR light it can filter out!

  • So is a IR filter good for your laser ?

  • @danilozverka All the filter does is block the infrared light. If you had an infrared laser, you could reduce the light output if you filtered it.

  • can you make a tutorial on how to remove the IR filter

  • @ilikeblondie Sure, I will get something together sooner or later.

  • I use to think that covering a screen with IR light, invisible to the naked eye, would be a good way to prevent people from filming and illegally distributing copies of movies in theatres prior to release until I realized that IR filters existed.

  • That would be pretty interesting strategy if filters weren't used in the cameras used. Cheap cameras don't have a filter. Lots of fun can be had with those. I may demo some other stuff sometime in the future. I have an IR laser!

  • Nice video :)

  • well then they would have to buy a filter for their camera....which if they would i think the whole illegal thing would still be cut down because they would have to take the extra step.

  • Cheers for demoing that
