From the Sega Ages Phantasy Star 1 remake for the PS2. Music, illustrations, maps, battle system, etc have all been redone.

The key to this battle is having antidotes on Odin (Tyrone) and Noah (Lutz), whilst using Noah primarily as a healer, as Myau does not participate in this battle (he is being held hostage by Dr. Mad).

  • You actually let him kill Myau?

  • As stated in the video description, Myau is automatically held hostage by Dr. Mad.

  • I'd pay 15 bucks for this on PSN.

  • @jaymthegenius @jaymthegenius Definitely agree about Odin being the big fighter in Phantasy Star 1. If memory serves, during the final fight with Dark Force in Phantasy Star 1, the only things that worked were Odin's laser, and any magic cast by the other 3 characters. Oncte they ran out, that was it - even Alis's laconian sword didn't work! I literally beat the game using only Odin's laser weapon. Once the other 3 ran out of MP, they had no way to defend themselves and we easily killed!

  • Odin is the entire team, everyone else seems like filler. In Phantasy Star II Rolf and Rudo were the team (with Amy as a backup and Anna as a stat booster, no need for third attacker with Rolf and Rudo), III seemed to be balanced, and IV was semi balanced with Chaz (broken character, has best spell and skills), Rune, and Wren. Rika was ok, but best at boosting stats. Everyone also had one hit kill skills against common monsters (useless anyway since characters inflict enough damage).

  • @millgiass :: In the original, you are given a choice. If you say yes when he says give me the cat. Myau is automatically killed... heh... I guess they didnt want the humane society on their butt so he is taken hostage instead

  • This is also a bit meh...I liked the original version where he'd go 'Here kitty kitty...' and you answered 'Yes' or 'No', and he'd 'kill' Myau if you selected 'Yes' but he'd still attack. If you selected 'No' then he'd say 'I SAID COME HERE!' and then attack.

Get the retranslation from Phantasy Star Cave, use Kega Fusion emulator, google for the links.

  • @ HRVDNT:

Someone would have to make special tools to extract the script, decompress it (if needed), and then compress and reintegrate the new script, and possibly coding/testing a new VWF for the English script to avoid having to use abbreviations. There are already English re-translated scripts available but if you want to actually translate the japanese properly in this version it'll still take a bit of work.

To my knowledge nobody has made progress, not much interest in it.

  • this should be on the 360 and PS2 come on!!

  • @Angelsydeon lol i never knew that but i was like 12 when i played it

  • @neukworst And so am I. He had guns in the original too.
