Alash Ensemble with Bela Fleck and The Flecktones playing "Jingle Bells" at the Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Music Festival at The Congress Theater on 12/12/09. The Alash Ensemble is a throat singing group from Tuva (which is located in the far south of Siberia, Russia) that performs traditional Tuvan music.

    The instrument is called igil, it looks like an erhu (except for the horse head) but the actual construction is quite different.

  • @CatGameDaiyE He is doing what is called throat singing. He is using both his chest voice and his head voice which produces multiple over tones and that eerie dream like effect.
