The four basic rules of gun safety. There are many more specific issues related to gun safety; however, these four, mostly borrowed from Jeff Cooper, distill it down to the essentials.

1. All Guns are always loaded. [Treat them that way]

2. Never let the muzzle cover [sweep] anything you are not willing to destroy.

3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.

4. Be sure of your target. [And what's behind it]

  • Thank you for this video. I do not own a gun and don't care to at present, but that doesn't mean that I have to be ignorant of how to keep myself and those around me safe from my own ignorance of firearms.

  • the Number 1# rule of Firearm safty is. You can never ever be to careful weather you know for sure or not that the fiream is on safty er unloaded with or with out ammo. ... Basicly the same difference he just explaind...treat them like they are lazer beams that can cut off human limbs :D

  • @SpartacusColo

    well said :)

some of the videos on here are plain scary. recently i actually saw a women who was just given a shot gun and had no idea how to operate it muzzle her husband/boyfriend like 3 times!

i'm thinking to myself its a freaking 12 gauge and at the distances she was at it may as well have been a death ray. just crazy stuff its sad that some people give their friends and loved ones loaded weapons before explaining how to properly handle them.

  • Great job putting out the most essential kind of gun video that needs to be seen by everyone. I enjoy watching you shoot. Thanks for all the vids!
