Hydroponics Update2

A brief update on how the hydroponics project is going.

The seedlings are now 20 days old.

I've also made some slight changes to the main growing system.

I'm always happy to hear feedback, suggestions, and constructive criticism to help me improve

cheers

Rick.

  • Rick,

What did you use to shoot this? I am interested to know if you used the Flycam or some other tripod device? I am considering getting a flycam for a book trailer I am going to shoot but wondered if it would be worth the investment--if it can improve the quality of some of the shots we are gonna have to get done. I have a Sony Z1u...so it's bigger than a handycam and will be shooting in 24p. I would appreciate your response. Thanks.

  • Hi

    The camera was just hand-held.

You need to see my video named:

Flycam 5000 - U-Flycam - cheap stabilizers my honest opinion

It'll give you the answers you are looking for :o)

  • Update time!

  • yes - hope to do one this week :o)

  • Once you get a good amount of roots showing, you can run it full time. Then you will notices masses of roots growing onto the gutter but also plenty of very fine 'air roots' . Once you have this, growth should be explosive. Finally the big rockwool have a groove on the underside which should face the flow direction to allow water to pass underneith. Good luck and check be sure to check into the best chilli growing website in the country. Chris

  • Cheers for the tip Chris - I'm going to give it a try to see what happens.

  • tin foil is a cheaper way than mylar, and you could add a middle brace wich would be benificial, and instead of using the rockwool, use pea stone to set the seed plugs in, and cover the drain with screaning as so the stone cannot fall through, stone holds its heat well it would work well with the plastic that you have already have as it could get the light, which would warm up the planter, and a warm root system is a happy one, please tell me if this advice was of any help, chow

  • if you leave them on a heater or someplace warm it will help germination. since the sun's heat isn't enough to start it, plus its winter

  • grow some weed man
