Yes, it's obviously fake, but the Japanese actually had a plan for sub-launched aircraft... with the sub at the surface, the nose opened and a plane with floats could be unloaded, set up, and launched in minutes. Check wikipedia for "Submarine aircraft carriers of Japan".
