Can you hear a difference in Guitar Tone? 3 Guitars play a classic CREAM song. An inexpensive Samick AV1 Guitar, a PRS SE Guitar, and a Fender Telecaster. The Fender Telecaster was the guitar used in the original song so its Tone should sound much closer to the original sound. The amplifier used is a VOX VT50. Gain is set at 50%. The neck pickup is used on all 3 guitars.

  • Hey, It says that Clapton used a Gibson SG, on the original. Wikipedia info.

  • samick wins

  • samick wins, telecaster is lame.

  • PRS is nice.

  • What song are you playing?

  • thisi is not the right tone of the song...

  • i think this song was recorded on a Gibson Sg men...not a Tele...

  • not fair contest - two have 'buckers ,, one doesnt ;)

PRS is best at mimicing the sound of the original track. No question.

But I love the sound that a cranked Tele spits out.

Tele for me - 'authentic' or not.

  • Samick is winner!
