I came away with some deep insights into Shevlino's work that I had not appreciated before. While his confidence (and occasional humor) have always been evident, he is developing his absolute mastery of the interface between impressionism and realism, the physical and the ethereal, surface and depth. He truly is one of the generation's most important artists.
