Jeffrey Hidalgo started his career as a member of the singing group Smokey Mountain, under the tutelage of Ryan Cayabyab. He won the Bronze Award for the New Singer Competition in the Shanghai Asian Music Festival in 1999. He was also a finalist in the Mteropo Song Festival 2000 as a composer. His hits include "When I Met You" and "Ang Ganda Ganda Mo."
