Great role model for singers!

Sublime !
Grazie !!!

Every time and I mean every time I saw this tenor he cracked all over the place. His Calaf was painful and as for his Verdi singing the least said, for me I was always disappointed.

bravo

It was a good voice but his pitch was suspect. Most of his live recording show a lack of style and problems in the highest part of his voice. His recording of Fancuilla with Tebaldi is painfull.

Exquisite.

He was Hungarian but he lived in Germany most of his life with his German wife.

fanntörpikus&frenetikus

A voice of Gigli-like beauty, used with musical elegance.
It's touching to see him in old age.

I agree with you forallyouknow,Konya has a warm Italianate timbre and a great legato line. And I love thelittle Italian sob between 1:15 and 1:22 here. For a singer of his quality,I was surprised at the relative paucity of his recordings.Anyway,he's a fine tenor.Bravo e mille grazie Sandor!
