very touching song.

Very good song! One of my favourites at the moment. The video is very sad. But I'd have been happier for a stereo sound.
And my impression of the man was that he is a samurai too. :)
Really, who is he?

There aren't any samurai in the video, retard.

Hi Leeate, Thanks for you kind words. When we were first storyboarding the video, I wanted the look and the costumes of the man and woman to resemble "Three-Kingdoms Era" of Korea (around 800A.D.). I loved the Korean drama "Emperor of the Sea" and used photos to create the look for the video. You can see some of them on my homepage (look in video description for URL)
At the bottom of the page are pictures from that show. So they dressed me like the Korean warrior. Thanks again.

I don't want to start a classic YouTube debate, but how can you say that we lost the war (first line of the song)? Niether side lost the war because we are still technically at war. We only signed an armistice agreement. Sorry to bitch, but I served in Korea for three years and my great uncle was part of the Inchon landing, so it gets under my skin when people say we lost. You can delete my post if you wish, but please don't say that we lost.

To 69HemiGTX (great car, by the way)your comment is welcome here, and I thank you not only for that, but for the great, and all too forgotten service you and your great-uncle gave over there, in what was one of the bloodiest wars in modern history.
I'm sorry for the impression the lyrics gave, and I can only blame the fact that in pop-music lyric writing, a literal interpretation is not what the writer meant.

The line "Won the battle, lost the war" referred to the fact that we (America and our allies)accomplished our mission there, and continue on to this day, but the bigger picture, the dividing of a country, of a people, was what I was referring to in the line "...lost the war."

We toured there (So. Korea) last year and I had the opportunity to ask many Koreans how they felt about our presence (American military) there, and almost unanimously, their sentiment is that they wish it wasn't necessary, but because it is, they're glad we're there. Because they feel if we left, the north would take the opportunity to pick up where they left off.

Not to digress, but it's encouraging to see the strides being made in this last year, and to see the 2 sides starting to make genuine efforts at reconciliation. And I believe that is in no small part due to the initial and continued support the South has received from you, our troops and government, and our allies.
Thanks again for all you've done, and for caring enough about it to watch and write.
