Just friends

A tribute to Charlie Parker, with that tune "Just friends" , where the Bird gived us fantastic solos and incredible ideas. This version is taken from the "Verve" studio record session, with strings. If I could have the opportunity, I think I'd write an arrangement on every "live" version we have (listen the live at the "Rockland Palace concert", it's amazing).His music is so beautiful.

I am sorry but I answered my own question. I see that it is SuperSax and I remember just loving them for doing such a wonderful job on the whole album. I'd drink my beer and just have a ball listening to this. Thanks and sorry to bother again. Peace.

Go babies. I love people who pay good respect to Charlie, who in my opinion was the master. I really do like this. they sound sort of like Supersax. Are these some of the men who performed SuperSax Plays Bird or all of them under a different name? I have this LP from years back and it sure sounds like their rendition. I loved it. Thanks for posting.

là bien sur il y a du vécu.... ça fait vraiment plaisir à écouter et on imagine le travail qu'il y a derrière tout cela. A mon modeste niveau je tiens aussi le bar dans l'orchestre d'harmonie de Calais et en ce moment ça travaille très dur pour préparer le coucours qui nous permettra d'accéder en honneur avec entre autres un morceau particulièrement difficile pour les saxs : "Funky people" d'Antoine Hervé.

Encore bravo pour votre prestation
