TEDxGolfLinksPark - Dr Sridhar Mitta - Story of IT in India

Dr. Sridhar Mitta, aged 65 years, is the Managing Director and Founder of NextWealth Entrepreneurs Private Limited, Bangalore, India. NextWealth has developed a distributed delivery model to provide Information Technology related jobs to graduates from small towns. The innovative business model provides value to small town graduates and customers and reverses migration to cities.

Dr. Mitta was the Managing Director of e4e India during 2000 to 2010. Prior to e4e Dr. Mitta was with Wipro Information Technology business since its inception in 1980. He was its first employee and played key role in Wipro achieving technology leadership. He pioneered global delivery of outsourced product development services. Wipro became the highest valued company in India during his tenure.

Dr. Mitta was also the Founder and CEO of EnThink Inc. , an Intellectual Property design company located in silicon valley during 1998-2000. He began his career with Electronics Corporation of India, Limited, Hyderabad in 1973 .

Dr. Mitta is very passionate about promoting entrepreneurship. He is associated with ‘The IndUs Entrepreneurs (TiE)’ which fosters entrepreneurship globally. He served as the President of TiE Bangalore Chapter and a member of Board of Trustees of TiE Global. He is also advisor to several venture capital organizations and serves in board of several companies. He mentors many young companies.

Dr. Mitta holds a PhD and MS from Oklahoma State University , US ; an M Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur; and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics from Andhra University. He is a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Mitta has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of Oklahoma State University.
