Did anyone else not like the dead until they heard this album?
All my friends loved them, particularly the more rockin jam songs ( 'eyes of the world' , 'playin in the band' ) and I had already tried them and written them off before I heard workingman's dead. I listened to it twice through and its still the only dead album i can listen to through gladly.

Does anybody know if Gerry's playing in a standard tuning on this track? I'm transcribing the solos andwhen he drops off the F at ~ 1:20 the G that sounds in the bas sounds pretty open and not fingered on the (tradionally) E. Anybody with perhaps better ears than mine give an opinion?

great memories of driving down kentucky back roads, singing this with a buddy of mine who's gone now.
