This very pretty and to me unfamiliar song makes me sorry to have missed the movie! I love the Quilter setting of the same poem.

They're wearing far more makeup than was worn back then. The only women who painted their lips and eyes at that time were prostitutes.

Custer LaRue is singing...Such a lovely gentle voice. Reese does such a superb job-acting the essence of the romantic song. One of my favorite scenes.
