Art songs, written for the male voice, are often sung by females. It's appropriate. It's a beautiful melody and it doesn't have to be gender exclusive, because of the text.
Actually, sliding/scooping is never artistic. At least not in the style of Faure. And the tempo was too fast, end of story. Faure doesn't like rubato but there is a marked difference between moderato and what was on this recording. Actually, it's possible that I might be an expert, seeing as I've been studying music and French musical literature for what..5 years now?
It sounds like the sliding and scooping was an intentional artistic choice she made, and there is really no right or wrong way to portray a piece. And Faure wrote the song to be Andante, or moderate tempo, which is how Lia took it here. But thanks anyway, you expert you.
not trying to hate, but I will say the comment I got in my jury. waaaay too fast (and don't slide/scoop from one note to the next,) otherwise, not too shabby.

For all those talking about the tempo
Frank is working tripple hard on tempo now
look forward to the new frank with his new
tempo skills.
I can't completely approve this video
but I can say you managed to make that piano
obey you at important moments frank which means you do have the talent.
