Robert Perry introduces the Hydrogen-UK bio-reactor unit, completed in August 2009.

This is a fully patented device, capable of producing approximately 8.4 litres of liquid hydrogen in a 24 period.

It utilises algae via hydrogenase in a unique vertical reactor design never before seen.

  • This method requires light, so would this idea really be efficient in cars unless this fuel cell was external? Light used to photosynthesise the algae requires energy, and is the energy produced by the algae enough? the two things just cross each other out.

  • Is 8.4L per day seriously enough to fuel a car and to meet the electrical needs of a home? That doesn't seem like very much hydrogen at all. I thought a fuel cell goes through 8 litres of hydrogen in no time at all?

  • This is a very interesting concept and your presentation raises many questions. Certainly, the biohydrogen community would like to hear more about it. Please join the Biohydrogen Interest Group (BIG) on Linkedin.com. Feel free to link to your advert through the group.

  • What an amazing concept and presentation. This idea of hydrogen production is the best way forward. No more oil and a greener planet. Well done.

  • This is amazing, if it is not hushed up, it will save the planet.
