  • Another of the great one hit wonders from the '60s. Visited the Civic Center in Lansing in 1966. Were on the Ch. 6 teen show "Swing Lively" with Dennis Wayne. Love this song and was a hit in Lansing and Detroit.

  • Just goes to show you that we Clevelanders have taste!!

  • @cb3961 I played this on my weekend radio show while I attended Michigan State from 1968-72. They were actually from New Jersey. As for the Big 8, I tried to pattern myself to be like Scott Regan and Big Jim Edwards when I was a dj. Steve Hunter and Hal Martin were others I liked. Nothing matched the Big 8 in radio then or now, Sirius included.

  • @IrwinGenealogy I was told it was an African hair drum

  • After Richard Tepp moved from New Jersey to Cleveland, this song became quite popular in the Cleveland market. Definetly got its share of air time on WMMS-FM and WKYC (WTAM)-AM.

  • Great.........I have the Original in Mint condition..Really Big in Cleveland. Thanks.

  • I remember recording that song way back in 66 on a cheap reel to reel tape recorder. Still have it but the quality is poor. It's good to hear it in high quality in you tube.

  • @IrwinGenealogy Probably just a xylophone or marimba.

I got a copy of this 45 in a lea market (cracked, but still plays fine) for $1,

  • Great Song - Can anyone tell me what instrument is making that bell like sound in the background. I just wonder if it pre recorded music that they used in the session when the record was cut.

    Thanks !

  • Love it!!!!

  • When our band, "The Noblemenn" was starting out this was one of our biggies. I remember playing it many times in my parents garage. We were one of the many bands named "The Noblemenn". We were from Garden City Michigan. 1965 until I quite after the summer of 1967. I had to get a real job since I was soon to be a senior in high school.

  • When I 16 in 1966, this song was covered by alot of bands playing in the coffee houses and teen meets. It was a fan favorite and one of first songs to show case the fuzz tone base. It still resonates. I'm glad that Janet is ok
