AVENGED SEVENFOLD SIDES WITH AXL ROSE AND GUNS N ROSES

Avenged Sevenfold frontman Matt Shadows recently saw Guns N' Roses during their swing through New York City last week, and he said they're better than ever. Guns N' Roses first shows of the year have drawn reluctant rave reviews.

Shadows talked with us about the shows.

Shadows has also sided with Axl Rose in the Velvet Revolver vs. Guns N' Roses debate, and he discussed why he backs the enigmatic frontman.

Avenged Sevenfold was recently announced as the "surprise" guest on OzzFest. The band is currently touring in support of the album City Of Evil and their new single, Beast & The Harlot.

Axl was what made gnr so huge.PERIOD! He may be a dick, asshole but that is why everyone love this guy!! I loved the original GNR ,But now I also love the New GNR!! The rest of the members are over whatever it was that ultimetly tore the original lineup apart! So why cant we as fans do the same!! Axl still is an amazing singer and writer And has huge amounts of talent to offer us :)

(Part 5) I have read everything GN'R related and have plenty of evidence to back me up. My strongest piece of evidence is that whenever Slash or the other members of the band are questioned about Axl, they all say just ask Axl. They say this because they know the truth and that's all that matters to them. Plus when the do ask Axl, he just talks himself into a whole by putting the other members down. Axl definitely needed the original band, look how often he changes the lineup for the new GN'R.

(Part 4) If you are an Axl fan, sorry to say but at the end after he fired Gilby Clarke, Slash left and Axl was kind of pathetic begging Slash to come back.The rest of the band followed suit and then there was Velvet Revolver which is way better than the current GN'R. So Axl fans don't be offended. If you don't believe me, look it up. I have been a fan since I was 13 and I am almost 19 now.

(Part 3) Besides the more people will recognize Slash before Axl in the Use Your Illusion albums because of the November Rain solos. Even Dizzy Reed deserves credit, those piano riffs were amazing. By the way I am aware that Axl wrote the November Rain Piano riff, just saying. Guns N' Roses is my favorite band and I don't want to talk anyone down but I do know who is at fault for the bands end, Axl.

(Part 2) This pissed Slash, Duff and Matt off. Ultimately, whether you like Axl or not you have to admit that he drove everyone of the original members away. Axl was a good singer but a bad friend. Personally I will back up Slash any day. He just wants to rock out and have fun, not put up with the bullshit that Axl generated.

(Part 1) I can't disagree with Shadows that Axl played a huge roll in the Use Your Illusion albums. However, there is far more to the feud that Shadows is overlooking. The structural integrity of the band was compromised when Axl tried to change the bands entire vibe. When Axl fired Gilby Clarke, he did it without talking to the band first.
