@banjohappy OK.....thanks. It didn't say "at" anyone in particular so I thought it was to me :-)

to somebody who criticized their clothes and the fact they weren't singing a christian song and said they weren't being christians

You're welcome. The words help show just how amazing this song really is. Top-notch song writing. I made some minor mistakes and one big mistake. The bridge should read, "Well the years they come and go; somehow their love only grows." "Love" not "fear". Sorry.

@kim2292 Thanks, Kim.

And it ain’t just enough, but it’s the best thing you have.
Following in his daddy’s fame, starting in a football game,
And he always tried to make his momma proud.
Fate Texas Friday nights are filled up with football lights
And parking lots after the game. Everybody's story's the same,
AND ALL THEIR DREAMS GET STRIPPED AWAY!
Seems like nothing’s gonna change. Oooo oooo, cuz that’s just fate.
He was on the football team, and she was the beauty queen
In their little hometown called Fate.

Oooo oooo, cuz that’s just fate.
She wanted them to settle down; he wanted to leave town,
But if he didn’t leave now, then he’d never get away.
He always wanted to be some body, other than his mom and daddy,
Some how he had turned out just the same.
So he laid down his dreams, and said this is how it’s gonna be,
Just like daddy did for me.(CHORUS). Well the years they come and go; somehow their fears only grow.Something in life is dead and gone.
They built their world around their son,

FATE, TEXAS: He was on the football team; she was the beauty queen in their little hometown called Fate. He was only seventeen; she wanted to spread her wings, But they already had a baby on the way. So she laid down her dreams, and said this is how it’s gonna be, Just like mamma did for me. Fate Texas Friday nights are filled up with football lights and parking lots after the game. Everybody's story’s the same, and all their dreams get stripped away. Seems like nothing’s gonna change.

@banjohappy Exactly to whom are you directing this comment?
-
Gee did you ever sing Yankee Doodle? Just because you sing a non-religious song doesn't mean you're not a holiness singer. I sang barbershop harmony and was also in a gospel quartet. We did mixed concerts. The holiness is in the individual's heart and between the individual and God. The message will be heard by those whose ears God opens to hear it. God has not given us the authority to judge the hearts of others. That's His business.
I like this song...not on the CD though, i don't think

I can't understand it either. I didn't understand the title of the song either. That's why I just called it The Peasall Sisters. We opened for them that night.
