  • ah Fats

I grew up with you in my house

AS A boy in the 1960 and you are still in my life Man

  • weirdly enough i used to really hate this kinda music

then one day all the sudden i heard a song like this one and all the sudden it struck me this is the best music out there no music in the world is better

the reason why this music ( i think ) is better because it has real meaning to it each piece is different

  • What a gorgeous touch, he was a master player and a wonderful composer.

  • He kinda looks like Jack Black.

  • allways that delightful, easy lilt.

  • @bblackzero3 I bet you'd like 35 minutes of Erroll Garner Live - post. I never knew how to connect to the old tunes, but then I got an organ ( Wurlitzer & Hammond the best BTW & certain Thomas, Conn) and started listening to lots of 1930's music. Seems like a lot of standards came from that era. Also started falling in love with the 1930's films. All these great songs show up in these movies. By the 40's I think it all got wimpy and technicolor musicals suck IMO, but the 20's & 30's had balls!

  • @JazzyBlues420 I hope you have reefer songs in your library. One of my favorite things to do is sit out on my deck, smoke my water pipe and listen to Fats, Harry Gibson, Les Paul, and many assorted reefer songs. I have yet to find anything more relaxing. One of my friends joined me for one session and he found it just as relaxing, and he doesn't even smoke.

I first started really listening to jazz when I heard The Big Broadcast on WFUV. Before then, I would listen without really appreciating it.

  • @bblackzero3 haha.. yeah i know what your sayin man. i used ot be the same, but the day i got into it was when the game "Bioshock" cam eout back in 07 i believe.. because of that game i wouldnt have hundreds of classic jazz and blues songs in my music library.. i even have this record right here on vinyl.. i played that game stoned while studying some WWII, bioshock had 20s-40s music, though it took place in 57. WWII..Jazz..Reefer.. everything came together real smooth like. and im a trumpeter..
