Really? In this day and age you're still producing only for iOS?

More is not better though. You'll only find the best apps on iPhone because developers like developing for a quality device. Just saying.. If you really want quality apps like GroupShot, you're going to find more of it on the iPhone.

The Android OS is on more phones and is more prevalent around the world than the iPhone ... not to mention more apps for free that you have to pay for + apps that Apple won't let into the app store. :)

How about you get an iPhone. In this day and age I'm surprised anyone has anything else. Stop beating around the bush, you know the best apps are on the iPhone.

it is a million times harder to make android apps because you need to make the app work on over a hundred different devices, where with iOS, you need to make it work on 3 devices - all with the same screen size, and with multi-touch.

removing a space is not innovation, I have to agree with you on this one. But who says the name must always be innovative? If it is an English expression, I do not see a problem here. Let's say that I want to create a 'notepad' app. Can 't I call it 'notepad' because Windows has a 'notepad'? come on... As for the algorithm, I have just checked the app again on my friend's iphone. In the About page they write they have used OpenCV. I guess there is more than one way to do things right.

Great answer, the innovation here is removing a whitespace character - impressive. The Siggraph paper is written by Microsoft authors you nitwit. So, you can pretty safely assume that the app is using the techniques invented by Microsoft and described in that paper. I wouldn't be so sure everything there is 'open'.

Microsoft project was not their idea, it was based on the SIGGRAPH algorithm which is open to the public, Google it!

I have no idea what algorithm this app is using.

The name is also not theirs, they called it "Group Shot" (two words) and this is one word. And even if it is, so what? Is it a trademark? Do they own the dictionary? Their product was killed in 2007. So now nobody can do anything in this area ever again? I wish it was available on Android, I would buy it!

you copied the idea from Microsoft, then actually re-used the name of their original app. it's not unusual for ideas to get re-cycled like this, but actually copying the name of their app is a bit much.
