This will show you how to setup your own Wi-Fi Hot-Spot using an Engenius EOC-1650 wireless router with a www.hot-spot.co.nz account.
When purchased from www.hot-spot.co.nz the Engenius EOC-1650 already has been flashed with our Hot-Spot NZ firmware.
The first step is to connect an Ethernet cable from your ADSL router to the LAN port to the supplied POE injector.
Slide the cover of the back of the Wi-Fi Router
Next connect an Ethernet cable from the POE port of the POE adapter to the Ethernet port of the Engenius EOC-1650 Wireless Access Point. This Ethernet cable can be extended for up to 90 meters.
Next plug in the power supply and connect the power to the POE injector.
The access point will start broadcasting two SSIDs to connect to. The first is your Public SSID "Kiwi Cafe" and the second is "Private" this is used for staff to access to your LAN and internet using WPA security.
The wireless management is done using our online wifi management portal.
What you will need is a free WiFi HotSpot account from HOT-SPOT. co . nz and then load the custom firmware (or purchase a wifi router with the firmware already on) and bang you have your self a WiFi hotspot that you can now customise. So when you connect to the internet with wifi, you will be presented with a wifi page that either asks for a voucher (that you can print for free) or credit card. Once the users does weither one of these, they are granted access to the internet!
