http://www.contactignition.com How to answer the business phone! How to answer the phone seems to be a no brainer but the truth is the way most companies answer is very poor, bad structure, inappropriate use of names, asking the wrong questions. what I suggest is a little more simple. I guess the fact that the easiest things can get screwed the most. Sad but true most companies ask their staff to answer with their name when the staff member doesn't want to do this at first anyway. but later may adopt the companies method as a way of hiding their own identity in the job. Hiding what we feel and faking it on the job is one of the leading causes of stress related illness and death in the work place of sales people and customer service agents.
Who should watch this video, anyone in power over an employee who picks up the telephone regularly to customers in either a service role or a sales role, sales trainers, sales reps, sales managers whom control their own destiny. Anyone who runs a business that communicates with customers at a distance needs to understand the impact of what the customer hears when you pick up your business telephone!
Thoughtful as ever, Ron. Acoustics not good.
I don't fully accept the argument about the name of the employee. The first name is a compromise between identifying who is providing the service (so the employee is bought into the transaction) and personifying it. I like to have that first name, as I then know the guy at the other end feels responsible for what s/he is saying to me.

Good video. I would like to see an actual phone interaction taking place live, in addition to hearing the information youprovided.
