@nelliebum its not too dangerous, i (15 years) had the operation a week ago and my asd was three times the one of your son (18mm) and the right half of my heart was equal to the left side in dimensions. I could go home three days after the surgery :-)
My son is getting that exact surgery and I was curious, how dangerous is it, and why do then need to keep him for a week, is this something I should be concerned about( his ASD is 6mm in diameter and he has quite a bit of swelling on the right side of his heart) please e-mail me at rr_romance@live .ca
I also have that.. Atrial septal defect. im 22 years old and its just now that they've detect i have that kind of congenital heart disease. i need to be operated (ASD path closure) as soon as possible because mine is severely dilated according to the doctors here. sadly the surgery i need is too expensive and my parents cant afford to support my operation. My dad just have his stroke and he is half paralyze.. TO ALL KIND HEARTED PLS DO HELP ME.. email me @ ragvillamin@yahoo.com
Dr Burke is it possible to be done the same procedure with a vsd case? my daughter has a vsd and she is now 1yr and 2months old.. based on her latest 2d echo the hole of her heart decrease the size. it gives me a positive result.
thats the same procedure they did to a famous tv personality here in the philippines, hope my daughter dont need that kind of surgery.. surely in god's grace my daughter will be healed.
Doctor Burke , I've seen some of ur intervent videos ! You do a really great job !!! I'm a GP and my nephew was diagnosed with ASD and also a valvular disfunction at 3 days of life. We are waiting another 6 months for the second visit ! Hope everything goes fine , because here in Albania there are technical problems that make these intervents even more difficult than they are !
