With this video I tried to capture some of the look of the trees and other plants after we get hoar frost.

Hoar frost usually occurs when there's an ice fog. The fog sublimes ice crystals on all the objects outside, but often on just one side of things if there's a slight breeze.

The music is Quartett C-dur KV 157 II Andante by W.A. Mozart.

The videos portions were filmed at 100x real time at various dates in the winter of 2009-2010.

  • Lovely! As I sit here in Perth on a stinky humid 33C day (after 40C yesterday), I know where I would rather be when I watch this!

  • @opplevelse Thanks! However, even though we're having a mild spell this winter (about -2C today), getting some sun in Australia sounds awfully appealling right now! :)
