Netgear have changed the design of the GS724T v3, and have removed the cooling fan.

Fil689 wants to have a fan, but how do you connect it if the connector has been removed?

I think it's best to connect the fan directly to some power test points (or the main power connector). I suppose you could solder a new header on, but I'm not experienced enough with soldering high-layer count boards to know how sensible this is.

There are 3 components present, next to the fan molex connector:
L38 is just a "0 ohm resistor" or a wire link.
The other 2 components are small ceramic capacitors. I don't know the values (but they're unlikely to be important and could be left out)
R279 is probably related to speed sensing, as it connects to the logic circuits nearby, but it is impossible to trace the connection due to the large number of PCB layers. The switch software does not monitor fan speed, so this resistor could also probably be left out.
