@FinalTallgeese Vanilla is a term used for the original version of anything. It's not an insult or anything like that. It's usually used when there are updated versions or modded versions of games. For example:

In the game "Minecraft" there are several mods available that would add content or change the way the game is played. However, if you are playing the game without any mods on, you would be playing the vanilla version of the game.

@IamRizer I think he's pretty solid, though I'd say if you want someone with similar team and play functionality, Dr. Doom is pretty badass in this game.

Is Iron Man terrible in this game? I hardly see you coming up against him and he is one of my mains in MVC2. He's my favourite Marvel Superhero and regardless of whether he's good or bad I'll use him I just want to know is he great in this game or not?

@FinalTallgeese It's vanilla cuz it's the original not plain. Like Vanilla is the original ice cream flavor? Same thing/ it's just easier then calling it: Marvel vs. capcom 3: Fate of two worlds the First.

Can someone tell me why the first version of this game is sometimes referred to as "Vanilla"? I have not played this yet, but from what I have seen I dont see anything plain about this game. Thanks for posting.

@e1234njoi yep , they murdered my favorite marvel character in this game , not one buff given to her, capcoms assuming everyone is going to save 5 hyper bars when their using phoenix. why not just give dp a seperate slot give her 400k health, nerf her damage ALOT and give her a different move set than phoenix , they got ryu and akuma so i dont see why it would be different, or just remove dp from phoenix and give phoenix 850-900k health raise her damage output slightly and give her a lvl 3 hyper

They nerfed phoenix to the point where she's pretty much no longer playable it's a shame you would barely see phoenix online anyway just in tournaments she dominated.

I've seen a fairly long video that was like 4+ min detailing EVERYTHING done to just Zero. Every character had a lot of minor, hard to notice changes you need to research.
