How many gallons do your motors hold their compression for from this method? I have to get a new motor soon so I need the best way to break in an engine

if i was to do this when it is cold would i keep the foil/sock/fome on or not
The reason I prefer to heat the button is that we temp at the button. We know the sleeve starts to expand at around 170 degrees at the button so that's a more accurate way of knowing what your sleeve is doing inside the case. Another reason why I prefer to heat the button is that my primary focus is the expansion of the top of the sleeve. Both ways work though.
