If you're worried about moisture, might wanna throw a desiccant in there. Like a reusable packet of silica gel. Removes moisture from the air inside the box.

I have a 52' rifle case that has the same foam squares that punch out. I found that they were actually kind of annoying when I was cutting them out for my shotgun. The little squares don't match up with the curves of the gun, so you don't really get a snug fit. I ended up with some half-cut squares because I decided to trace the outline and just cut along that line.

This case sorta reminds me of when I went to qualify for an Armored Car co. 10yrs ago. I brought a case filled with different handguns and the firearms guy looked at me like I was an ahole, hahahaha. SKB makes good cases - I use to use them a lot back in the day.
