i pad can suck a dick and y because you cannot use it as a laptop/tablet so for now apple is obsolete im getting the acer fuck apple and fuck apples....how bout them apples =D. and plz i do not want some random person trolling on my comment saying fuck your opinion blah blah blah blah blah ect its very old and no one will give you a thumbs for arguing with me.

@ThatKnownKid yes. some people might disagree, but i think windows 7 is perfect for tablets. a more fluid, direct, hands on experience. i love my w500, but i did purchase an acer iconia bluetooth keyboard (i like to use ms word with the tablet rotated 90.) and a stylus. stream hd movies, hell yeah!! and save to usb flashdrive! wait, what? the ipad doesn't have usb ports? aww poor fanboys. (w500 has 2.) the future of computing is the tablet device! the future is now!! tell 'em TKkid

i really wanted a VGA port on this as well...
the windows tablets are FULL computers whereas their android counterparts are like portable media players with limited codec support thru android marketplace applications....
and i hate ipad - any apple product is crap....they make crap and price it too high so that anyone buying that will be downright knitwit/dumba***/person with mental issues

@nmycon I don't think it will totally replace a laptop when comparing to the screen size, processing power for industrial level applications which you may possibly use at university, but if you have a workhorse laptop or desktop within your easy reach, this gonna be a great thing to use one note (using a special capacitive stylus) and other conventional pc tasks like word, excel & etc.

does anyone actually use the W500 for work rather then entertainment? I'm considering it for University next year and was wondering if I'd be able to take notes during class (I've heard about a program called One Note thats in the Office Suite).
$600 for a tablet & keyboard vs. $300-400 for a Laptop with a bigger screen, more storage space and similar specs...
The touch screen is pretty much the only think the W500 has going for it for what I will be using it for...

I've got this Tablet at while it is still a netbook level device it certainly raises ones expectations of what a netbook is. I have it hooked into my DSLR when I do photos in the studio and I get live PS capabilities. I have it on my personal cloud between my work PC and home PC so I can access any files. I can even do lite-mid level PS at my work with graphic design stuff. Upgrade this to windows 8 and it's a monster netbook. It can also game to an extent. Only paid $360 on Amazon STEAL!

@ThatKnownKid you can play call of duty black ops or farcry2 and the w500 i have it and it fun to play while stuck in trafic :D

Btw to any idiots who say "Windows 7 was not made for tablets, it is slow and glitchy QQ. Me h3a4T ipad" --- I f***-ing played Starcraft 2 on medium settings on my W500 and it was like I was playing on my Gaming PC. To any idiots, Starcraft 2 requires an AMAZING processor and graphics card to handle so you Apple fanboys can go kiss Steve Jobs' a** some more while I stream HD Movies to my W500.

You do realize that the Acer W500 can CHARGE and Upload songs onto the Ipad 2. The Acer W500 has 2Gb of DDR3 Ram, The Ipad 2 has 512Mb of DDR2 Ram. The Acer W500 has Hd resolution and better resolution. The W500 has FULL windows 7 and can pretty much do anything on the go. The W500 has 2 Usb 2.0 ports, The Ipad has none. The W500 has an HDMI port, The Ipad does not. The W500 has an SD memory card for additional storage (up to 64gb), The Ipad does not. The only thing thats the Ipad ha
