Demonstration of how to use two external USB microphone preamps, like the Shure X2U, Blue Icicle, or Centrance Micport Pro, to record in stereo. For detailed instructions and a demo video, see the accompanying blog post at http://recordinghacks.com/2009/07/20/stereo-usb-recording/

  • @lenoat702 -- because those are the two I had with me when I made the video. Clearly if you really wanted to record in stereo, you'd use two of the same brand and model of interfaces.

  • Excellent information for Garajband , heading should be how to use two microphone in garajaband . Thanks

  • Why would you use 2 different interfaces?

  • I had my volume at high for my computer and youtube to hear you ._.

    This was helpful :3

  • However, you can use audacity to copy and paste to another audio track and set one mono track to left and the other right.

  • thanks!! are there any usb stereo mics? or is there such a thing?

  • Recording in stereo requires 2 microphones (or one stereo microphone). The CU01 is a mono microphone; alone, it cannot record in stereo.

  • how do record in stereo with one usb mic? i have a samson cu01 and when i try to record in stero on in garage band i can only hear it out of one side. please help.
