@lizzy5572 You could probably use almost any type of medium to create an abstract portrait. The paint pens are a fairly quick drying opaque medium. I enjoy working with pastels or charcoal too, but each medium is unique and offers different possibilities for creation. Good luck with your artistic pursuits!
