Great cover version by Gloria. However, Mel Carter's version (my favorite) was not the original. This song was first recorded in 1953 by The Orioles. Carter's recording was from 1965.

I can remember sitting in the Pizza Parlor with my girl (now my wife) listening over and over to this classic by Mel Carter. It is one of those moments that stick wth you for your whole life. I'm so pleased that many of the great singers later sang this song. It truly is a classic for all seasons.
