Ushanka Mac vs. PC - Does Obama Flip Flop?

We were swimming against the current on this one. Every time PC thought our script was ready, MAC would find another "refinement".

The guys discuss the following refinements:
1) Public vs. Private Campaign Finance options
2) NAFTA - Renegotiate, or not?
3) Telecom Immunity - For or against?
4) Chatting w/ Dictators - Unconditional, or Preparations?
5) Troops left in Iraq after withdrawal - 2,000 or 60,000?
6) DC Gun Ban - Constitutional, or not?

So you're saying that my argument is 'humorous' because it supports the opposing side to you?! What qualifies you to state that the mac fan base is indefensible? What exactly makes it ok for a clear pc fan to attack the mac and its fan base as inferior but not ok for mac fan to do the same to the pc and its fan base? Yes, i'm implying that people who really believe that macs are better for the arts are stupid, misinformed, forced to use these computers because it's what their company has, or just ignorant.

 No matter how well you articulate your pposition, it just ends up being humorous because your defending the mac fan base. Be real wmd.

My argument therefore remains that this forced metaphor of yours, creative though it was, is fundamentally flawed in that you have simply labeled the mac fanbase as susceptible to gimmicks. Assuming that when purchasing a mac, a person falls for the first 'shiny' piece of software they see and immediately spends their hard earned money on it. Have you honestly not thought that a mac consumer does as much research as a pc consumer when parting with their hard-earned cash?

.... I am of course fully aware that you most probably don't mean 'shiny' literally, rather that you think they are full of shallow gimmicks to lull uneducated consumers into buying their product, a metaphor for the successful electioneering of Obama. But perhaps Mac's fanbase lies not in fools, but in more artistic people who view music recording as important as work for example... Therefore appreciating the inclusion of the 'garageband' software as standard in a mac.

Firstly, i just want to clear this up by saying that i was arguing against your claim that those who buy macs voted for Obama, thereby generalizing a market as having a common political or social belief, be it pro-liberal or just pro-Obama. As the pc market is mostly a duopoly nowadays it means that to try and achieve the advantage, each firm has to compete on a non-price basis, and so maybe other than its shine, consumers prefer a mac's recording capabilities or its video editing software.....

I'll break it down for you. A mac is not a special kind of computer. It's a computer, it has hardware and software, neither of which are top of the line when they are released. Macs are over priced, how then do they sell? Because they are SHINY. It might take you a few days to understand, just mull it over in the back of your head. I wasn't talking about liberals, republicans, and democrats. I was talking about people who believe obama is different instead of just a puppet.
