  • @revelationmd If Labour promised to withdraw from the EU, I would vote for them. The problem is they can't. If they did the media and press would ridicule them just as they did in 1983, and just as they ridiculed the 'NO' campaign against entry in 1973. Corporate interests are firmly in favour of European intergration since it promotes the free movement of capital and the free movement of labour. Then they can get get bailed-out by the member states when things go wrong. This is the sad truth.

  • Those figures are damning and staggering. The EU is a failure on so many levels.

  • @stephentsang2000 Because when he preaches to his own people he has a bad habit of saying certain things that spook large parts of the voter base (like when he went off slagging off the NHS to Fox News in the US).

  • @sabrinacle UK is in deep shit, and now he is preaching to EU instead of his own country. That's really crazy, indeed.

  • poor Daniel. It must be frustrating being the lone sane person in a sea of crazy people

  • I just can't believe that DH is prepared to serve under such a weasel-liar as Cameron.

  • Where do you think all the votes went? To Nick Clegg...? Bliar got in with LESS votes than that idiot Kinnock LOST with, and why? Tories deserted in droves-WHY? Core issues such as the EU and Immigration. UKIP is the Tory lovechild.

  • Nothing wrong with running as a Conservative - if we still had a Conservative Party. Obviously, we do not, hence we have a 'hung parliament'. Cameron's a liar and is uncomfortably akin to Tony Bliar. MILLIONS of people have taken their votes elswhere, or, often, abstained.

  • @HeavensGremlin I think he would much prefer the room to be filled but he doesn't have much choice. Also what's wrong with running as a conservative? What's so great about UKIP? I understand that Daniel has views that would be quite at home in UKIP but they are also quite at home in the conservative party; although not all conservatives support all of Daniels views, many do.

  • @Cathsocpresident0607 I joined UKIP for exactly the reasons you give. The Tories have lost all confidence in their argument and have allowed the left to dictate where the 'centre ground' is. Sad fact is, if Lady Thatcher entered politics today the current Tory leadership would hide her in the back benches.

That said - I'd vote for anyone that gave a real 'cast iron' promise of an EU referrendum.

...well, not Labour obviously - I have some self respect.
