The Moody Blues was nothing but a maudlin ripoff of this cat.
Rory Gallagher was mooted to replace Mick Taylor--how anybody could forget him is probably evidence of methaqualone's popularity at that time.

Reminds me a bit -of peter greens style. To think i used to put this on in the late 70s - and then put on disco ....i was a confused kid { with er , taste though ! , pardon the pun} , still am .

I FEEL FOR YA BROTHER...I LOVED THIS GUY...I REMEMBER WHEN I LITERALLY WENT TO LONDON ON A ROCK BOTTOM AIRLINE FARE FROM USA IN THE EARLY 1980S SIMPLY TO BUY AS MANY RECORDS OF HIS WORK THAT I COULD...MY FRIENDS THOUGHT I WAS LOOPY! I've said it before and I'll say it again, Rory was THE most under-rated and under-appreciated guitar player/song-writer (of any musical style) in post-war music. The media's refusal to recognise him borders on criminal. The fact that he never seemed to care about it speaks volumes about the man. He must be sitting up there now in Heaven, jamming away with all his heroes and laughing his heart out.
