    The law only works on paper unless you have loads and loads of money - thats why an increasing number of people don't bother obeying it .

    I am sorry your chosen lawyer couldn't help you. The lawyer(s) who weren't interested in taking on your case should have explained why. It may have been that you were unlikely to get legal aid - some benefit fraud cases aren't treated that seriously by the Court particularly where the over-payment is small and so you may not qualify for legal aid. If you can't afford to pay privately (and of course many can't) then you are still entitled to speak to the Duty Solicitor at Court.
