Clenching and relaxing fist in order to identify veins and arteries is no longer allowed as it increasing potassium levels. This could mess up results and falsely show signs of kidney or heart problems...

I am student too, and we are definitely required to wear gloves. Wearing gloves is really for your protection, not theirs. It's just a precaution.

I'm floored at the people on here that think wearing gloves has anything to do with being good at your job!! SMH @ you

NHS and Dof H both say you should wear gloves when dealing with patients for Infection Control reasons, irrespective of what may or may not happen, you don't know what bacterium may be on your hands no matter how good your hand hygiene and you might get a right bleeder when bleeding a patient!!!!!
-
If you can do your job properly you NEVER need gloves with the vacutainer system. If you need gloves give the job up!
-
@skaleda99 If you are any good at your job, you DONT need gloves!!
