@wravenoak I think it is an atheistic apologists dream movie. It completely distorts the fact that the main impulse for the Crusades was religious., not some modern PC dream of uniting all the people in a lovely hippy tent of peace and happiness.

@22grena Crusades were conrived by the Church to decrease wars that ravaged Europe. Sending as many fighting men out of Europe against a common enemy. This increased the power and wealth of the church. The church was often left in charge of property when the Lord left. If he died the church owned it. Templars and simialar societies rose to prominence also. Religion was just the rallying cry. A lot of blood was spilled for the Cross. Led astray by the Church itself. Opportunists rose up.
