Soupy Sales - "The Mouse"

Soupy doing "The Mouse"!! At first I was gonna edit this post down to just the song, but I decided to leave the whole segment intact, since I found it interesting watching Soupy stall/ad-lib while...

7855Waldo, yes, it's a real song, recorded and all. You can tell Soupy was lip syncing it though. Two other songs...the Soupy Shuffle and Bafalafica (not sure of the spelling). Boy, am I showing my age!

Would you believe I had to read a goddamned English newspaper obit to find out this song exists?

Yeah, Lily, you're right - there's a natural similairity between The Soup and Craig.

But please, all the rest of you, stop with the comparisons already.

It's causing my electricity bill to go off the charts!

Go figure out some new Tiger Woods jokes. Git!

I love this clip. I cannot stop watching it. Soupy was great with spontaneity. Very loose. And, what was he on that day...man! "The Mouse" segment is very surreal.

That's just why I left the whole segment there, Soxogram!! Sounds like everyone in the room was having fun!! It's all so silly, you have to smile at it!!

A great, classic single from May 1965. Soupy did a great, great garage band-type record for Capitol a year later called "That Wasn't No Girl". Would LOVE to see a clip of that! God bless Soupy Sales. He is greatly missed.

was he filiming in front of a live studio audience or was that just the crew laughing and making comments in the background?

I always got the impression that it was just his crew and maybe invited friends who were laughing along with Soupy, but I can't say for sure...

This was not a kid show but as a kid I loved it. I use to hate the pies for some reason RIP Soupy you were a special ground breaker.
